DBT School Group
Katy has been in communication with local DBT therapist, Gena Toppi, LICSW about the possibility of partnering to run a short term DBT group during the school day at Accord. 

DBT group therapy offers teenagers a powerful and supportive environment to develop crucial life skills, particularly in the areas of frustration and discomfort tolerance. Through structured lessons, experiential exercises, and group discussions, teens learn specific strategies to manage intense emotions without resorting to impulsive or destructive behaviors. By practicing skills like distress tolerance, mindfulness, and emotion regulation within a peer setting, they gain confidence in their ability to navigate challenging situations, accept difficult feelings without judgment, and ultimately build greater resilience in the face of life's inevitable frustrations and discomforts.

The group would be provided at a cost to families.

PAX East Tickets
