Discover The Accord School

We're so glad you're interested in The Accord School! In a time when education often prioritizes rigor and achievement and special education resources are stretched thin, we believe in a heart-centered approach that makes learning truly special. We're excited to share our unique community with you.

The Accord School is an innovative learning environment where every middle schooler discovers joy, curiosity, and meaning. Because we teach through the lens of Multiple Intelligences, we value, celebrate, and thoughtfully challenge each student's unique intellectual and personal strengths while nurturing their areas for growth. With an average class size of just eight students, we provide a truly connected and personalized educational experience. We teach essential skills like collaborative teamwork, designing experiences that encourage students to connect with and learn from their world and their peers.

Our admissions process is thoughtfully designed to welcome students and families who will not only thrive here but also enrich our unique school community.

We invite you to submit an inquiry so we can begin to get to know your student and your family!

Warmly,
Katy Boucher
Founding Director

Tuition and Financial Support

While we understand that paying for an independent school is a significant investment, The Accord School strives to provide a top quality education at an attainable cost for families.

Tuition for 2025-26 is $35,250.

Private school is expensive (As is operating a purposely small school)! The Accord School offers some financial aid, but as a very small school, our financial aid resources are limited. Our financial aid application, found here, is available online through TADS, our application and tuition management system. We have put together an information sheet to answer some commonly asked questions about financial aid. While we wish we could meeet all needs, it’s simply not possible. We encourage families to explore a number of resources available to make an Accord School education affordable.

Please note, financial aid for the 2025-2026 school year is currently fully allocated. However, families requiring aid to attend may still apply. Sometimes, due to changing circumstances we may be able to offer more aid, and we would then consider submitted applications. Applying ensures you'll be considered if funds become available.

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is due upon acceptance, and we offer flexible options for payment of the balance. If you have additional questions about tuition you can reach out to our Operations Manager, Amy Hall.

The Accord School, while actively inclusive to students with varied educational profiles, is purposefully not established as a school specifically for students with special needs, and therefore, is not designated as a Chapter 766 institution. District tuition reimbursement is very unlikely.

Apply

Applying to an independent school can feel like a daunting process. Our goal is to make applying to The Accord School as simple and transparent as possible.  Additionally, we are not motivated to encourage applications that are not likely to have a positive outcome (in other words, we aren't big on sending out rejection letters). To avoid this outcome, we guide families through a multi-step application process that helps both parents and school officials determine if The Accord School could be a strong fit:

  1. Initial Inquiry.
Complete the Pre-Visit Questionnaire. We will review your information and contact you within a couple of business days to answer any initial questions you may have. You will then be emailed a web link to schedule a parents only visit to our school.

  2. Parent Visit to The Accord School.

During your visit, parents will: meet with The Accord School staff, tour the building, visit classes, and meet our students. Parents are not required, but should feel free to bring along any documentation (report cards, IEP, 504, testing) that might help us determine if The Accord School could be a fit.

  3. Student Visit to The Accord School.
We invite students into our building only after it has been determined by their family, possibly with guidance from The Accord School staff, that we could be a strong match. Experience has taught us that prospective students often feel very safe and comfortable in our building, and we only want them to experience this sense of belonging if attending The Accord School is a real possibility. This visit is scheduled with a member of our Administrative Staff.

  4. Complete Application for Admissions.
Students and their Family complete our online application for admissions. Prior to completion, families will be prompted to create an account in TADS, our student management system. The application provides an opportunity for families to help us go into detail about their child's personality, learning style, interests, strengths, and areas for growth. It is important that parents let their child submit an authentic application. Please do not over-edit or "shine-up" your child's writing. We appreciate the opportunity to  have a baseline of their genuine writing style at admission time so that students can reflect on their individual growth when they transition to high school.

  5. Endure a Brief Wait for Feedback.
We understand that waiting for news, especially about something as important as school, can be agonizing. We aim to respond to all applications within a two-week window. In the unusual event that we progress through to the application stage of the process and discover that The Accord School is not the right fit, we will provide thoughtful referrals to other school programs.
