Logical-Mathematical Intelligence
“Number/Logic Smart”

You might be strong in this area if you: Excel at problem-solving, enjoy working with data, thinking critically, analyzing situations, finding patterns, or organizing information logically. You thrive on rational reasoning and systematic analysis.

Dr. Howard Gardner, Multiple Intelligences (1993).

  • Math

With support from our veteran math teacher Liz, Accord students frequently find that they actually do have “math smarts”! Liz takes a gentle, patient and thoughtful approach to math instruction to ensure all students can tap into mathematical/logic intelligence. Below: Students have the opportunity to be “teacher for the day”, demonstrating a new concept for the class.

  • Science

Tracie’s science class is all about authentic, hands on learning! Not only are students engaged in slimy, sticky, loud, and colorful science fun filled with “oohs” and “ahhhs,” they also get to practice their math and logic skills in practical ways. Below: Student show off their data visualization skills in our spring science fair.

  • Math

In math class, students engage in project based learning to utilize many types of intelligences. Here, students are playing the board games they invented in math class. Students write directions for the game, design the game board, and explain to classmates how to play.
